The Mighty Avon Descent 2008

The first weekend in august heralds the mighty avon descent. Apparently it is the longest white-water race in the world. It is most definitely an exciting and challenging event and the highlight of the year for kayak and ski paddlers in WA. This year my dad was successful in completing it solo. I hope to compete next year with my friend Amy Robbo.

The Vans

Last night my friend Amy Robbo took me to see local band 'The Van's' as a supporting act at the hyde hotel. It was my first go at taking shots at a gig. I found the combination of dim lighting and the band jumping around like crazy made it difficult to get photos without blur. I love how dynamic shots of live music are....

Tourist in my own state

Photos from around Western Australia from a couple of shorts trips taken in July 2008. The aim was to give my friend Nicola who is from Manchester a taste of WA. I however, was by far the most 'happy snappy' of us all.
